Zoe-perry

Perry is the child to Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. In her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first television roles. Parents, however, were not keen to let her play an acting career until she was an adult and was worried about the impact of stress. Perry did not like school and was not a performer. Her first acting experience was at Northwestern University to gain friends upon her transfer to the university from Boston University. Perry made her debut at New York after graduation, having minor roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, her home-sickness forced Perry come back to California and pursue a career as a theatre actress. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway as a couple in The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015, she starred along with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning Drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. In 2017, she played a supporting role in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal which starred her father. The same year, she appeared as a child-like character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother as a young version. She was able to be cast in the part despite the close relationship with the character's family.
